JIMMY

What makes the Pro Performance K5 Blazer project truly unique is its origin story: it began life as a long-bed C10 pickup truck. Metal-Ox took on the ambitious task of shortening the sheet metal (and cutting) to convert into a K5 Jimmy, a process that is far more involved than simply restoring a Blazer. Now what exists, it a 1968 GMC Jimmy, which was never made by GM. The Roadster Shop chassis provided the platform for this creation. This meticulous conversion is a testament to the custom nature of the build and sets it apart as a one-of-a-kind creation.

The Pro Performance K5 Jimmy is not just a one-off creation; it's a modern performance machine, and its engine is the heart of that transformation. Under the hood lies a potent 6.0-liter LS engine with LS3 heads, but its power is dramatically enhanced by a Whipple supercharger. This forced-induction system crams 10 pounds of boost, creating just over 700hp. All this transfer through a 4L80E, making it's way back to the 9" Ford rear end.

WHEELS

Hot Rods by Boyd

One-Off Wheels

20x8.5 / 20x10.5

Standing apart with its truly custom, Hot Rods by Boyd one-off wheels! Rather than choosing from a pre-existing catalog, the wheels were specifically designed and machined for this particular build. This bespoke approach ensures a perfect fit, both aesthetically and functionally, with the Roadster Shop chassis and Baer Extreme 6R brakes. The unique design of these wheels complements the vehicle's overall theme, blending modern design cues with a high-performance edge that can't be replicated with off-the-shelf options.

BRAKES

Baer

15” EXTREME+ Brake kit

6 Piston Front & Rear Caliper

The Pro Performance K5 Blazer features Baer's Extreme 6R brakes to provide exceptional stopping power. This system is comprised of six-piston, monoblock calipers and large-diameter, two-piece rotors that are cross-drilled and slotted for optimal heat dissipation and performance. These brakes are engineered to fit within modern wheel sizes and offer a significant upgrade over the original braking system, ensuring that the classic K5 Blazer has the stopping performance to match its Roadster SHop chassis and powertrain upgrades.

FRAME

Coilover Suspension

The Roadster Shop's chassis is a purpose-built foundation designed to radically improve the classic GM truck's handling and performance to modern standards. Crafted with attention to detail, this chassis replaces the original, often-flexing frame with a rigid, fully-boxed structure that significantly improves torsional stiffness. It incorporates a unique independent front suspension, along with a four-link rear suspension, allowing for precise tunability and exceptional ride quality / performance. This advanced suspension geometry, coupled with modern steering and braking components, transforms the K5 into a vehicle that not only looks iconic but also drives with the precision and confidence of a modern performance machine.
