LS Fabrication’s “Gate Saver” or Tailgate Assist Shock/Strut– 1988-1998 Chevy Truck adds a little bit of modern luxury to your OBS Chevy truck. The “Gate Saver” is an easy install and addition to the tailgate of your 88-98 Chevy truck.

Trucks with tailgate straps (not cables) will require removing the driver side strap to make room for the strut. 

The LS Fab Gate Saver for Chevy trucks slows the tailgate opening action allowing your tailgate to open freely without slamming after unlatching.

You will now have a tailgate that opens like a brand new Chevy pickup!

The Tailgate Saver – 1988-1998 GMC Chevy Truck will work with both tailgate straps and cables but in the case of tailgate straps require the removal of the driver side tailgate strap is required to install. Please use your discretion on the weight capabilities with a single tailgate strap.
